Filmy Career of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah stars

There are lots and lots of serials or daily soaps which are entertaining a huge mass and not only entertaining them but also affecting their minds in different ways.

One of the most loved TV series is the serial Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. It is a very famous sitcom running since 2008 and is said to have completed its 2885 episodes as of 17th December 2019.

Dilip Joshi

Dilip Joshi is an Indian film and television actor. He has appeared in a number of serials as well as films and is prominently known for his role of Jethalal Gada in the serial.

He is well-known for his performance of comic roles. At a very young age of 12, Dilip started acting in various plays and had also joined Little Theatre Academy of Namdev Lahute.

Apart from his successful television career, he made his debut in the industry in 1989 with the character of c.

Since then he has appeared in several Gujarati dramas and Bollywood films such as: Hum Aapke Hain Koun..!, Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani, What’s Your Raashee?, etc.

Disha Vakani

Disha Vakani is an actress who has appeared both in films and TV series. She hails from a Gujarati Jain family in Ahmedabad. She started her career as a stage actress in Gujarati theatre like Kamal Patel v/s Dhamal Patel and Lali Lila.

She has also appeared in a supporting role in various blockbuster movies like: Jodhaa Akbar, Mangal Pandey: The Rising, Devdas, Phool Aur Aag, etc.

Apart from this, she has played the lead role of Daya Jethalal Gada in SAB TV’s series Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah since 2008. Though she went on a break in 2017, she then rejoined the show in October 2019 for a cameo.

Munmun Dutta

Munmun Dutta is both an actress and a model. She is well-known for her character of Babita Iyer in TMKOC. The extremely gorgeous actress has also worked in Bollywood movies like Mumbai Xpress, Holiday, Dhinchak Enterprise.

Though she initially dreamt of becoming a doctor but ended up being an actress. She started her career in 2004 with the serial Hum Sab Baraati. In fact, she has been in the industry for more than 15 years.

Neha Mehta

Neha Mehta also known as Anjali Mehta in TMKOC hails from Bhavnagar, Gujarat. She engaged in Gujarati theatre before being a part of the industry.  She started her Indian television career in 2001 Zee TV channel serial called Dollar Bahu.

From 2002 to 2003 she played the title role in STAR Plus TV serial Bhabhi. She has also been a part of various Bollywood and Tollywood movies: Dham(Telugu film), EMI, Janmo Janam(Gujarati Film).

Shyam Pathak

Shyam Pathak is an actor, known for Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah (2008), C.I.D. (1998) and Sukh by Chance (2009).

He is the Cousin of actor Vinay Pathak. He has worked in only one film so far that is- Lust, Caution which is a Chinese film.

Kavi Kumar Azad

The actor was well-known for portraying Dr. Hansraj Hathi in the sitcom Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. Apart from acting, he was an exceptional writer who used to write poems in his leisure time.

He has acted in various movies like: Mela,Fun2shh, Jodhaa Akbar, Baadshah etc. He was initially born as Harpal but later changed his name to Kavi Kumar Azad and died on July 9, 2018 at the age of 46 due to cardiac arrest.

Jennifer Mistry Bansiwal

Jennifer Mistry Bansiwal is born and brought up in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh. She is a graduate from Guru Gobind Singh Khalsa College, Jabalpur and started her acting career in 2008 with the Bollywood film Halla Bol starring Ajay devgn and Vidya Balan.

The actress is well-known for portraying an innocent and sweet parsi wife, Mrs. Roshan Sodhi in the serial Tarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. She also appeared in the Akshay Kumar starrer movie Airlift in 2016.

Bhavya Gandhi

Bhavya Gandhi or  Tipendra Gada(Tappu) from TMKOC was the part of the serial from 2008 to 2017. He played the role of child lead ‘Suryakant’ in the 2010 Hindi-spoken film Striker and left the show to become a film actor.

Apart from Bollywood movie, he has appeared in several Gujarati movies like: Pappa Tamne Nahi Samjaay, Baap Kamaal Dikro Dhamaal, Bau Naa Vichaar etc.

Ghanashyam Nayak

Ghanashyam Nayak is a veteran supporting actor who has been active in the TV and film industry for more than 55 years. He has struggled a lot to attain a recognizable position in the industry and initially used to earn only 3 Rs. For working for 24 hours!!

Later, he became famous as Nattu Kaka in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. He has acted in a supporting role in innumerable films like: Masoom, Beta, Barsaat, Krantiveer, Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam,etc

Sharad Sankla

Sharad Sankla is an Indian television & film personality who is best known for his comic roles in the movies and serials. He has been active in the entertainment industry for the last 20 years and has multiple praiseworthy projects attached to his name.  

He was seen playing a comic role in the movies called ‘Pyar To Hona Hi Tha’ (1998) and his other noted film appearances were in movies such as ‘Jaagruti’ (1993) and Hum Hain Bemisaal(1994). He is famous for playing Abdul in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah.
